Well, what can I say? I LOVE SEWING!!! Not only do I love to sew but I love to do a lot of other things as you can tell if you click around this website. My name is Dena and I started sewing around the age of 10. The first thing that I ever made was a pair of shorts. They were totally not creative but made by me, which made my mom proud (who taught me how to sew, thanks mom!!!). At that age sewing wasn't of much interest to me so I stopped until the summer of 1999 (about 12 years later). After seeing some girls selling clothes in the lot at a String Cheese Incident new years eve show I decided that I could do that too and support my musical habit by making and selling patchwork clothing. Well, to say the least I was quite successful at this and was able to support myself on tour. I started working with hemp shortly after that and because I wanted different colors of hemp which weren't available, I started dyeing my own fabric. I then figured, if I'm going to put the effort into dyeing this fabric I might as well learn how to batik too! Oh, and of course, I like to make costumes on occasion! Doing all these different things definitely keeps my creative juices flowing! There is nothing better than creating something out of practically nothing.
